Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information of our members, customers, employees, and stakeholders.

We value the trust of those we deal with and of the general public. We recognize that maintaining this trust requires that we safeguard personal information and be both transparent and accountable with regards to how we treat the information that is shared with us.

Refund Policy

Gallery Shop
We want all our customers to be completely satisfied with their purchases. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return merchandise within 30 days for exchange or refund. Merchandise must be in original condition and accompanied by the sales or gift receipt. All refunds will be given as per the original purchase transaction.   

We are not able to provide a refund on personal items (e.g., earrings, face masks, self-care products), perishables (e.g., food, drink, plants), and sale items. 

If you are returning an item that was purchased online, you must send a request in writing to shop@agns.ca. We will reply with a return authorization email and further instructions on how to return the merchandise. Refunds will be issued once the merchandise has been received. The Gallery Shop will not cover any shipping or duty charges. To return merchandise, packages should be addressed as follows: Gallery Shop, Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, 1723 Hollis St, PO Box 2262, Halifax, NS B3J 3C8. 

Programs 
All cancellations requests must be made in writing to info@agns.ca.  

Cancellation requests must be received 14 days prior to the start date of the registered program to receive a refund, minus a $20 administration fee, per person. Cancellation requests made less than 14 days before the start of the program will not be refunded.  

Program spaces are transferable. You may request to transfer a space to another person by emailing info@agns.ca. We will require additional registration details for the new attendee. There is no administrative charge to transfer a program space. 

The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia reserves the right to cancel programs with insufficient registration numbers as well as unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. In this event, all fees will be refunded.  

Venue Rentals 
Cancellation must be made in writing to info@agns.ca.  Bookings cancelled three (3) days prior to rental date will be charged the full rental fee. 

Memberships 
Non-refundable and non-transferable.  

Late or Missing Refunds 
Refunds, if applicable, will be processed by the AGNS within seven (7) days. Refunds can take up to five (5) business days to appear in your bank account or posted on a credit card statement.  

Social Media Terms of Use

Monitoring
AGNS social media accounts are usually active Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, unless otherwise stated. Monitors typically post and respond during those hours. If you ask a question in the evening or on the weekend, you will get a response during regular working hours.

Enquiries
AGNS social media accounts respond to questions during regular working hours. While staff try to respond to all enquiries, sometimes post volume may prevent individual responses.

Commenting
While AGNS encourages public dialogue, we ask that comments on AGNS social media accounts be relevant and respectful. We reserve the right to delete comments that we feel are inappropriate and to block any user to prevent further comments of this nature. We reserve the right to remove comments that include, but are not limited, to use of:

  • profane language of any kind
  • language not respectful of other users of the site (including harassing, aggressive or abusive language)
  • comments that encourage or suggest illegal activity
  • comments that are repetitive or spam
  • abusive or oppressive language, content, or links (this includes comments that are racist, sexist, homophobic, misogynistic, transphobic or promote bigotry in any way)
  • sexually explicit or violent imagery or links
  • harassing or abusive language towards individuals or groups
  • information that violates an individual’s or group’s privacy
  • business solicitations or “spamming”
  • off-topic or irrelevant content
  • misinformation and unproven or inaccurate accusations

AGNS social media accounts will not engage in partisan commentary. Comments on AGNS posts are not endorsed by AGNS.

If a user repeatedly breaches these guidelines monitors will report the user to the associated social media platform.

Privacy
AGNS social media accounts are hosted by third-party service providers and are outside the control of the AGNS. Users should read the services’ privacy statements and user agreements before signing up for these services. AGNS social media platforms are publicly accessible and comments are visible to the public.

Best practice would be to avoid from posting your personal information, or anyone else’s on these platforms.

The AGNS reserves the right to modify these guidelines at any time. By continuing to follow AGNS’s social media platforms constitutes acceptance of these terms.
