The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia collects, preserves, and exhibits visual arts for the benefit of the residents of Nova Scotia as well as its visitors. Over 19,000 works are currently in the Permanent and Study Collections.

Search the Collection

You can search the full collection database online using Argus. Images of works can be requested for personal or professional use.

Acquisitions

The Gallery collects a limited amount of artwork every year, with a focus on acquiring artwork from under-represented communities and artists under-represented in the Gallery’s collection. To submit a work for consideration, please email collections@agns.ca and include an image and, if known, the title, artist, and dimensions for the artwork.

Rights & Reproductions

Images from the AGNS collection may be licensed for personal, educational, or commercial use. Please contact collections@agns.ca for more information and to receive the request form.
