Summer Camps at AGNS
The AGNS Summer Art Camps is the perfect place for young artists to get creative!
Each week our camps will dive into exciting art-making explorations, trying out a variety of fun techniques and materials. Whether it’s drawing, painting, or creating cool three-dimensional projects, there’s always something new and exciting to discover!
Inspired by the exhibitions on view, AGNS camps offer kids a chance to learn about a variety of art mediums. Campers will have fun and get inspired with hands-on studio activities, explorations in the galleries, and outings around our neighbourhood.
With fun weekly themes to guide their work, these camps are an inspiring way for kids to get creative this summer!
2026 Camp Descriptions
Each week brings a new creative adventure inspired by exhibitions on view—from the mysteries of the sea and the power of colour, to the beauty of the natural world and behind-the-scenes studio experiences.
Explore our 2026 summer camps below.
-
From the Sea (July 6-10)
Artists have long been inspired by the mysteries of the ocean. Across cultures, stories, songs, and artworks, we celebrate the wonder and power of the sea. Inspired by the exhibition Joan Jonas: We come from the sea, campers will explore projection, drawing, and sound to create immersive worlds filled with props, masks, and mirrors. This week of creative exploration invites imagination to dive deep—and linger long after the experience ends.
-
Emerging Youth-Artist Spotlight (July 13-17)
This week-long immersive studio experience invites young artists to explore foundational artmaking while working toward a pop-up exhibition at AGNS. Guided by artworks on view in the Gallery, the artists will bring their ideas to life using a wide range of materials and tools. Along the way, they’ll sharpen their skills, collaborate with peers, and discover what happens behind the scenes as artwork moves from idea to opening day!
-
Colour Creative (July 20-24)
How do artists use colour to tell stories, share emotions, and shape the way we see the world? Inspired by artworks on view in the exhibitions; Ta’n a’sikatikl sipu’l | Confluence, the Maud Lewis Gallery, and more, young artists will dive into the science and symbolism of colour through hands-on experimentation and play, drawing inspiration from both the natural world and their own vivid imaginations. This is a week of bold exploration where creativity shines in every colour!
-
Many Natures (July 27-31)
The natural world is full of endless inspiration and creative possibilities. Drawing from the exhibition From One to Many Natures, artists will experiment with sculpture, printmaking, and painting, using both traditional materials and unexpected natural elements. Through playful, hands-on art-making, they’ll investigate textures, patterns, and forms found in the environment—while developing their own unique artistic voice. This immersive week encourages curiosity, creativity, and a deeper connection to the many “natures” that surround us.
